Transparency

Pursuant to his powers under section 2 of the Local Government, Planning and Land Act 1980, the Secretary of State has issued a code as recommended practice as to the publication of types of information concerning the discharge of functions by local authorities.

Although the code is only “recommended”, Whitwell Parish Council has taken the view that it is appropriate for such information which relates to its functions to be in the public domain.

 This list is updated each month and details the cumulative expenditure to and one person, group or suppliers over £500.
Senior employee salaries
 There are no employees receiving salaries above the defined threshold of £58200 therefore no details are published.
 Councillor allowances and expenses
It is Whitwell Parish Council’s current policy not to pay such allowances or expenses.
Grants to voluntary community and social enterprise sector
 Policies, performance, external audits, key inspections and indicators on the authorities’ fiscal and financial position
 Whitwell Parish Council is not required to provide data on inspections and indicators. Financial policies and performance information is provided in the Annual Accounts which can be found elsewhere on this website in our document library.
The location of public land and building assets
 This information can be found in the Supporting Notes to the Annual Accounts which is published in our document library.
Democratic data and running of the council
 Election results, minutes included a record of decisions made, our standing orders and financial regulations can all be found in our document library.

All requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 must be made in writing to the Clerk of the Council either by post or via email.
