Declaration of an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone

Following the Secretary of State’s declaration that the whole of England becomes an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone from 6 December 2016 until 6 January 2017, the attached notice has been placed on all the parish council’s allotment sites.

Please pass this information on to anyone who keeps poultry or captive birds.

CREATE A LOGO FOR WHITWELL

Derbyshire County Council is running its Snow Warden Scheme again this year and volunteers are required.  Full training will be give.

Volunteer Litter-picking Group

Are you are interested in being part of a voluntary litter-picking group?  All equipment will be provided together with instructions on its use, risk assessments undertaken and arrangements made for full bags to be collected.

Councillor George Webster

It is with great sadness that the Parish Council has to report the sudden death of Councillor George Webster on 27 July 2015. Councillor Webster has been involved in local politics since 1967 and will be missed by many members of the community.

Councillor Webster’s funeral will be held on Friday 14 August at 1.00 pm at St Lawrence Church, Whitwell, with cremation afterwards at Brimington Crematorium at 2.00 pm.
