The Parish Council will be laying a wreath on the War Memorial for the 75th Anniversary of VJ Day, Saturday 15th August 2020 at 11.00 am.
Unfortunately, due to current restrictions, there will be no ceremony, but parishoners are welcome to view the laying of the wreath adhering to current social distancing advice.
Children from Whitwell Primary School have very kindly participated by making flags to mark the event, which have been made into bunting that will be displayed in the garden at Whitwell Community Centre, along with a V J Day flag.
We would like to give a very big thank you to the children, and hopefully you will all be able to see your wonderful flags in the Community Centre garden.
